چکیده

Co-doping of yttrium doped mixed barium cerate/zirconate perovskite (BCZY) with small amounts of Pr (BCZYP) substantially increases electrical conductivity while retaining structural and chemical stability. BCZYP is predominantly a proton conductor at temperatures up to 600-650 ̊C, whereas it is a mixed proton/oxide ion/electron conductor at higher temperatures. The co-doped BCZYP perovskite can be useful for applications requiring proton conduction at intermediate temperatures.

Defect Chemistry and Proton Conductivity in Ba-based Perovskites

The site incorporation mechanism of M dopants into ABO3 perovskites controls the overall defect chemistry and thus their transport properties. For charge balance reasons, incorporation onto the A site would require the creation of negatively charged point defects, such as cation vacancies, whereas incorporation onto the B site is accompanied by the generation of positively charged defects, typi...

The aim of this work is to compare the electrical properties of BaCe0.85Y0.15O3−δ (BCY15), BaCe0.70In0.30O3−δ (BCI30) and a composite material consisting of 30%vol. BCY15 and 70%vol. Ce0.85Y0.15O2−δ (YDC15). BCY15 and YDC15 were synthesized by co-precipitation, whereas BCI30 was obtained using the solid-state reaction method. Pellets were initially formed from powders at 5 MPa, after which they...

CO2 emission free co-generation of energy and ethylene in hydrocarbon SOFC reactors with a dehydrogenation anode.

A dehydrogenation anode is reported for hydrocarbon proton conducting solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). A Cu-Cr(2)O(3) nanocomposite is obtained from CuCrO(2) nanoparticles as an inexpensive, efficient, carbon deposition and sintering tolerant anode catalyst. A SOFC reactor is fabricated using a Cu-Cr(2)O(3) composite as a dehydrogenation anode and a doped barium cerate as a proton conducting ele...
